The house in the center is located in Seaside Heights, New Jersey and is the location for the MTV Show “Jersey Shore” that was filmed there over the summer.  It follows 8 Italian-American youngsters as they party away the summer.  To the right you can see the boardwalk.

The USS Texas is a veteran of Vera Cruz and both World Wars. The ship was completed in 1914 and saw action in some of the most important battles of World War II. It is now located at the San Jacinto State Historic Site in La Porte, Texas near Houston.

The house is located at 712 Red Bark Lane in Henderson, Nevada.  It was won in a contest by Barbara Howard of Richmond, KY.  Her winning entry was selected from over 15 million nationwide.

The Simpson House is painted yellow and baby blue (inside and out).

Holsten’s Brookdale Confectionery is located at 1063 Broad Street in Bloomfield, New Jersey. 

It was the location used to film the last “diner” scene in the Series Finale of “The Sopranos”.

The USS Alabama is a South-Dakota class battleship that was commissioned in 1942.  It was decommissioned in 1947.

It is now preserved as a museum ship in Mobile, Alabama.  It was damaged during Hurricane Katrina.  It reopened in January of 2006.

It served as the filming location for the 1992 film Under Seige.

The Homestead Miami Speedway is located in southern Miami-Dade County in Florida.  The speedway first opened in 1995 with a NASCAR Busch Series race.  It is owned by International Speedway Corporation.

The track currently is host to Ford Championship Weekend, which is the final races of the season for NASCAR Nextel Cup, Busch Series and the Craftsman Truck Series.  The track also hosts the Indy Racing League XM Satellite Radio Indy 300.

Mar-A-Lago, located in Palm Beach, Florida, is the former estate of Marjorie Merriweather Post.  It was purchased in 1985 by real estate developer Donald Trump and turned into the Mar-A-Lago Club.

The house has 58 bedrooms and 33 bathrooms and covers over 62,000 square feet of living space.  It also has 3 bomb shelters and 12 fireplaces.

Donald Trump opened up membership to the club for those who can afford the $125,000 initiation fee.

Trump has supposedly turned down an offer of over $200 million for the property from a wealthy Middle Eastern Sheikh.

The home above (center) is the residence of pseudo-celebrity Paris Hilton.  It is the home in which she is serving her sentence under house arrest after being released early from her 23-day jail sentence.

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is a roller-coaster type ride at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom in Florida.  There are also rides with the same name at Disneyland (California), Tokyo Disneyland and Disneyland Paris.  The Magic Kingdom ride opened in 1980.

It is based on Bryce Canyon National Park in Utah.

The Field Museum of Natural History is located in Chicago, Illinois.  It is named after Marshall Field who was a major donor that provided a large portion of the funds required to start the museum in the early 1900’s.  It was originally known as the Columbian Museum of Chicago.

The museum is home to Sue, the largest and most complete Tyrannosaurus rex skeleton known to exist.

The Museum of Flight is located in Seattle, Washington at Boeing Field.  The museum exists to acquire, preserve and exhibit historically significant air and space artifacts.  There are more than 150 aircraft and spacecraft on display as well as the “Red Barn”, Boeing’s first manufacturing facility.

The Playboy Mansion is the home of Playboy Magazine founder Hugh Hefner.  It is one of the most famous homes in the world.  It is known for the wild parties that are thrown by Hugh Hefner.

The house sits on 5 acres of land and is valued at approximately $50 million.  It has 22 rooms and includes the following amenities: private zoo and aviary, tennis courts, waterfall, game room, wine cellar and large pool area (including the famous grotto that can be seen above).

The Washington Monument is an obelisk that is located at the western end of the National Mall.  It is a memorial to first U.S. President George Washington.

Construction was started in 1848 and was completed in 1884.  It stands at over 555 feet tall and is visited by more than 800,000 visitors per year.

Bill Gates’ House overlooks Lake Washington in Medina, Washington.  The house is 50,000 square feet on an over 5 acre lot.  It has 4 stories and contains 8 bathrooms.  Construction of the house took seven years.  The assessed tax value of the house is $125 million and it pays close to $1 million a year in property taxes.

The Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino is located in Hollywood, FL.  It is operated by the Seminole Tribe of Florida.  It is now best known as the location where Anna Nicole Smith was found dead in her hotel room.  The Casino only offers slot machines and low-stakes poker.  There are no table games.

The Hoover Dam is located on Colorado River on the border between Arizona and Nevada.  It is named after former U.S. President Herbert Hoover.  The reservoir that is created by the dame is Lake Mead.  The Hoover Dam was designated as a National Historic Landmark in 1985.  U.S. Route 93 runs on the top of the dam.  On one side of the dam it is the Pacific Time Zone and on the other it is the Mountain Time Zone.

The Tomb of the Unknowns is a monument in Arlington National Cemetary that is dedicated to American soldiers who have died but not been identified.  The Tomb has an inscription that says: “HERE RESTS IN HONORED GLORY AN AMERICAN SOLDIER KNOWN BUT TO GOD”.

The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame i slocated in Springfield, Massachussets.  The building features a large, silver, spherical structure and a tall tower with an orange basketball-looking globe on the top.  The Hall of Fame honors both American and International professional and amateur basketball stars who have made a significant contribution to the game of basketball.

The Boeing Everett factory is where the Boeing 747’s, 767’s, 777’s and 787 Dreamliners are built.  The factory is the largest building in the world by volume.  It is located at Paine Field in Everett, Washington.

Rikers Island is New York City’s largest jail facility.  It houses over 15,000 inmates at one time.  It is not used as a long-term hold facility for offenders, but rather it is used to house offenders awaiting trial and those serving sentences of one year or less.  It is located in the East River between Queens and Brooklyn.  The island which the facility sits on is also called Rikers Island is over 413 acres.
